So Viv and I decided it was time for us to return home to reconnect with our family. It had been quite a long time and we decided to make it a surprise. 9 hours and a couple flights later, we arrived in Seattle.
The reunions were lovely and we had a great night of laughs and love.
The following morning, slightly hung over but no worse for wear, decided to hit up a few of our favorite spots in the city. Walking around the city, we were both struck by how different it was from what we remembered. The single biggest thing we noticed was the homeless population had risen significantly.

Both of us were certainly intrigued and we decided to start asking some questions. We encountered a friendly guy name Howard and we got to talking about things. We all sat down and had some lunch and we started picking his brain. I think we both independently had the same idea that this was an interesting world to explore for our next title.
We learned all about homeless society, and that's really what it is. A society. They have separate rules, ways of dealing with conflict, ways of interacting with each other. It is a whole different world.
Listen, we do dumb things sometimes for the sake of our work. We hope you don't try the things we write about in this blog at home.
We decided to go camp with Howard for the night at the camp nearby. We wanted to immerse ourselves in it, even if only for one night.
We won't lie, it was scary. Its amazing how used to the comfort and security of four walls and a roof we get. Its only when you go without for a night that it really hits you.
With a very restless and uncomfortable couple of hours of sleep, we bid Howard adieu and went back to my parents' place and showered thoroughly.
We both came out of the experience with a whole new appreciation for the challenges and difficulty the homeless suffer through every day. We are currently brainstorming how we can fit our new perspective into a narrative. You'll just have to wait and see if it makes the cut.
Bye all!
