I know, I know. It's been too long. But I have a good excuse this time. I was relaxing in Hawaii.

Before you bust out the pitchforks, let me explain. I was actually conducting some research on a new project of mine. As you all know, I just finished a three part series on America's rural communities and the realities of their lives. If somehow you haven't picked yourself up a copy, I'd kindly ask you to consider it. They are very special to me and I really believe the stories are important.
But I digress... Over the course of my travels, I started to come to a realization. All three of my books were primarily about white majority-demographic people on mostly one side of the political spectrum. Some of that was by design, I wanted to give a voice to those that often choose not to speak. But the lack of racial and cultural inclusion was never my intent and if I have one regret about those books, it's that...
So I'm starting a new series! It is going to be similar to my first in structure, but is going to focus on different minority communities across this nation of ours.
I won't pretend I chose Hawaii randomly. I wanted to write a book about the Polynesian culture of the Hawaiian Islands as part of the new series, and I needed a bit of R&R. Hawaii was the natural fit. I just didn't expect to go as off the grid as I did. For that I apologize.
But with all that said, I'm reenergized, refocused and remotivated. I'm ready to continue my mission of collecting stories and delivering them to you all. I promise I'll TRY to be more active from now on.
Look forward to reconnecting with you guys.
