So I'll be honest readers, I've run into a bit of writer's block. Ever since I published The Vision, my current magnum opus, I've been struggling for inspiration.
At the suggestion of a friend, I decided it could be time to explore new areas. After all, hopping on a bus and getting off at a random stop has gotten me this far in life.
Hours of uncomfortable, exhausting travel later and with no real destination in mind, I ended up in the massive bustling city of Istanbul.
Istanbul, the crossroads of the world. Two continents, 2000 years of history, and 15 million living breathing people. 15 million potential stories to be told.
The shear humanity of that city damn near knocked me on my ass. Not to mention the beautiful architecture, delicious food and warm weather.
Since last you heard from me, this is where I've been and guess what? I think I have an idea! And it's not about the Soviets!
Anywhere you go in Turkey, you will see the flag or a picture of the countries founder, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. There is a tremendous sense of nationalist and ethnic pride among the people, and yet society is remarkably secular when compared to a lot of its Muslim neighbors. All these thoughts have sparked a great interest in me about the Turkish people. I have to do a little bit more research before I promise anything to you good folks, but I may have the beginnings of a new manuscript.

Exciting times ahead my vicarious travellers! All my love and best wishes...
Seamus
